Honoring our armed forces this Veterans Day

US_Flag_331x200

Spring-Green hopes everyone will take a moment this Veterans Day to honor the service provided by our men and women in uniform serving both at home and overseas.

Recognizing and supporting veterans is something Spring-Green does every day of the year. Spring-Green demonstrates our support of America’s armed forces in a variety of ways. One is our ongoing assistance to veterans through our participation in IFA’s VetFran® program, which helps returning service members access franchise opportunities through training, financial assistance and industry support. Spring-Green applies up to $5,000 of the initial franchise fee to be used towards start-up expenses that Spring-Green designates or approves, to aid in offsetting some of the costs of buying into a franchise for qualified military veterans.

Another way Spring-Green and our franchise owners recognize the sacrifices our veterans have made is through our involvement with the Fisher House Foundation, which builds on-site housing at military hospitals to provide lodging for the families of current military members or veterans who are hospitalized. Over the last three years, the Spring-Green family including franchise owners, their families and support center staff have raised over $40,000 during the last two National Training Conferences through a silent auction.

We are also proud of our ongoing participation in Renewal & Remembrance, the largest single day of service for the nation’s landscape and lawn care industry. For the past 18 years, Spring-Green staff, franchise owners and their families donated their time, equipment and products to beautify and care for Arlington National Cemetery.

As a result of Spring-Green’s continued commitment to veterans, we have been recognized yet again by the Military Times in their Best for Vets: Franchises for 2015-2016.

Finally on Veterans Day 2015, Spring-Green would like to draw special attention to our many franchise owners who have served in the military, including Jim Anderson, Mike Bell, Eric Chapman, Matt Denney, Lenny Geibel, Roger Grose, Jim Hoelsworth, Kevin Holker, Bruce Mohns and Travis Snead. Spring-Green’s chairman Tom Hofer, as well as Tom Warfel, business consultant at the Spring-Green support center, both also served in the Navy and Marines, respectively.

Happy Veterans Day, once again, to all members of the U.S. armed forces.
