The Green in Spring-Green
Acid Soil
Definition:
Acid Soil
The acidity of soil is determined by the concentration of hydrogen (H) ions. The more hydrogen there is, the more acidic the soil will be. Soil that has a pH lower than 7.0 is considered acidic. Knowing if your soil is acidic or not is important to proper yard care, because acid-rich soil is only suitable for certain plants. Typically acid soil is found in moist climates.
