Annual Weeds

Loading...

Definition:

Annual (Weeds)
This type of weed grows and sprouts quickly in the spring; it flowers, sets seeds and then dies before winter. If the weed gets to the point of setting seeds, it can drop hundreds or thousands of seeds that can stay in the soil for years waiting for the right conditions to germinate. Annual weeds reappear from year to year and can cause problems with grass and plant growth as they compete for nutrients.
