The Green in Spring-Green
Necrotic Ring Spot
Definition:
Necrotic Ring Spot
Also associated with summer patch disease, necrotic ring spot is a turf disease that affects many types of growing grasses, particularly in late spring or early autumn. The symptoms include small, light green patches that grow and turn reddish brown in color, appearing in streaks and circular patterns around a center of relatively healthy green grass.
Necrotic ring spot
is caused by root-infecting fungi and can be limited with the application of proper lawn and yard care.
