NALP – National Association of Landscape Professionals
Spring-Green’s commitment to preserving our natural resources began on day one. As a founding member of the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) previously known as PLANET. Spring-Green has been a leader in the Green Industry promoting education, certification programs, and industry standards. Today, NALP serves the Green Industry by providing those same services as well as promoting best practices and environmental responsibility.
Spring-Green is also a proud supporter of Project EverGreen. Their mission is to raise the awareness of the environmental, economic and lifestyle benefits of landscapes and promote the significance of those who preserve and enhance green spaces at home, work and play.
Arbor Day Foundation
Spring-Green is also teaming up with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant a tree in your name. We remain committed to being environmentally responsible by enlisting the best practices in lawn and tree care and helping to create both beautiful and beneficial lawns and landscapes.
As part of our growing initiative to increase awareness of our tree care programs, we have formed this strategic alliance and are committed to planting a minimum of 10,000 trees this year, in addition to the 50,000 trees we’ve planted previously. In addition, it’s now possible for our customers and community partners to add to Spring-Green’s commitment to 10,000 trees each year by donating directly to the Arbor Day Foundation.
A big part of Spring-Green’s mission reflects the need to strive for better and to move forward, always innovating to improve. One example of that commitment has led us to making pesticide reduction a continuous priority. We have improved our liquid application equipment to help us in this initiative by introducing a dual line hose and a multi-trigger spray gun, which allows us to apply fertilizer to the entire lawn but only spot treat the needed area for weeds. Similar technology has been adopted on all of our push and ride on equipment many years ago but recently we made the substantial investment to upgrade our liquid application equipment so pesticides are only used as needed. By February 1, 2015, all Spring-Green vehicles equipped with tanks for the mixing and spraying of fertilizers and pesticides were outfitted with the dual-hose injection system.
Finally, Spring-Green offers organic-based fertilizer that introduces organic nutrients to the soil to develop a sustainable environment. These organic amendments promote “microbial” activity which will help to increase root growth. Strengthening the roots by feeding the soil helps build drought resistance and reduces your lawn’s susceptibility to disease.
