Spring-Green Named a Top 100 Lawn and Landscape Company Once Again

Since 2005, Spring-Green Lawn Care has been named one of the Top 100 Lawn and Landscape Companies in North America by Lawn & Landscape magazine. This year, Spring-Green ranked 26th on the list, which was published in May.

Spring-Green is a family owned and operated organization, who has recently begun recruiting qualified green industry business owners who are seeking to diversify and expand their service offering. Spring-Green Lawn Care has been delivering lawn fertilization and weed control services to residential and commercial customers in 26 states for over 38 years.

Spring-Green takes prides in the support services they provide to their strategic partners, which include an inbound and outbound call center, complete direct and digital marketing creation and management, and advanced operational and financial management support.

The Value of Adding Spring-Green

Chris Casselberry, owner in Baton Rouge, LA, added the Spring-Green franchise to his full service family-owned landscaping and pest control company, Green Seasons. Green Seasons had an annual revenue in excess of $8 million when he got started with Spring-Green. “We did not need Spring-Green to get into this residential fertilization and weed control business. We were already in it, but in a much smaller way,” says Casselberry, “After meeting with the leadership group and making sure our family values aligned, we knew together we could further penetrate the market much faster than going it alone. Adding the Spring-Green business as a sister company allowed us to align their expertise with ours,” continues Casselberry.

“After meeting with the leadership group and making sure our family values aligned, we knew together we could further penetrate the market much faster than going it alone. Adding the Spring-Green business as a sister company allowed us to align their expertise with ours.”

Casselberry also mentions that “Another desirable aspect of purchasing a Spring-Green franchise was the idea of cross-selling current and new services to the same customers. By doing so, the calculated ROI on our marketing activities has improved dramatically.”

Residential marketing is very different than other areas of the green industry. Spring-Green continues to reinvest in its systems and programs, maintaining its position as a leader in the green industry segment.

James Young, President of Spring-Green Lawn Care says “At this point of our growth cycle we are seeking the right strategic partners who want to dominate our category in their local markets. We take the partnerships very seriously and are in a position to be selective, making sure both values and growth goals align. We have gone so far as to create our own financing relationship so we can properly capitalize the right partner.”

Spring-Green Lawn Care has been on the Top 100 list since 2005, increasing their revenue each year while also moving up in rank. The Lawn & Landscape Top 100 is based on 2014 revenue from landscape profit centers, and is reported by each company listed. Companies on the Top 100 list earned total revenue in 2014 of over $8 billion; an 11% increase over the previous year. Companies on the list reported total employment (seasonal plus year-round employees) of 86,255 people. The list comprises 97 companies in 31 states, and three firms in Canada.
