Welcome to the Charlotte Area Spring-Green Lawn Care Service

Everyone has different goals for their lawns. Indeed, each yard is different as to what it needs to thrive. At Spring-Green, we have three different lawn care services for you to choose from based on your budget and your yard care needs, two of which are described below:

Preferred Program

This is our most popular lawn care program. With the Preferred Program, you get six or seven lawn applications that contain nutrients based on your soil and turf needs as well as broadleaf weed control (such as dandelions and clovers). Your Field Service Professional (FSP) will leave you notes after each visit with suggestions to improve your lawn with add-ons specifically formulated for the region you live in.

We’ll apply our fertilization applications based on the time of season. Your yard care program will include:

  • Early Spring – Your Field Service Professional, or FSP, will assess your lawn during this first visit and apply the best products to help your lawn get off to a great start. Your lawn will receive the proper nutrients to help develop a stronger plant after the South Eastern winter. Controlling weeds that have germinated and are growing, along with preventing new ones, like crabgrass, are an important aspect of this application.

  • Spring – Making sure your Huntersville and surrounding area lawn gets off to a good start is the number one job for your FSP. Applying the right fertilizer along with controlling weeds is just part of an FSP’s job. Making sure you are aware of problems or concerns, if any, is an important element of the partnership Spring-Green has with our customers. We rely on you to keep us informed of any weed problems or other lawn and landscape concerns that may occur between visits. By working together, we can help provide you with the lawn you always wanted.

  • Early Summer – Around January 15th to February 15th, your lawn is growing well, but so are broadleaf weeds. Dandelions, clover, thistles and many other weeds are trying to out-compete with your lawn. Having a thick, well-fed lawn will prevent many of these weeds from gaining a foothold. Applying the right amount of fertilizer and controlling weeds is the best thing to do to keep your lawn healthy and growing well. Be sure to raise your mower at this time of year to allow the grass to develop deep roots and keep weeds from germinating.

  • Mid-season Evaluation – Your FSP will complete this evaluation either electronically or on paper and provide a copy to you. In this assessment, you’ll learn how your lawn is progressing so far this year and what additional services will help your lawn continue to thrive in the conditions unique to North Carolina. Some services may include Aeration and Overseeding, Brown Patch Disease Control, Core Aeration, Fire Ant Control, Grassy Weed Control, Grub Control, Lawn Damaging Disease Control, Lawn Fertilization and Weed Control, Lime Treatment, Multi Step Tree Program, Organic-Based Fertilizer, Ornamental Weed Control, Root Specialty Injections, Sub-surface Damaging Insects, Surface Feeding Insect Control, and Total Lawn Insect Control.

  • Summer – Summer is supposed to be fun, but it is also the time of year when insect and disease activity increases. Besides applying the proper nutrients your lawn requires and staying on top of any weed growth, your FSP will check for disease and insect activity in your lawn. Mowing and watering properly at this time of year can mean the difference between a good and great lawn. Be sure you follow the recommendations that you receive from your FSP.

  • Late Summer – Weeds germinate in the spring, summer and fall. Summer weeds are some of the toughest weeds to control, but Spring-Green is up to the challenge. Spraying for weeds and applying the right nutrients to keep your lawn healthy during the summer are our main goals. Set your mower to the highest setting during the hottest days of summer. Watering is best in the early morning but never in the evening.

  • Fall -This is the time of year when your lawn heals itself from the pressures of the summer heat and dryness. Applying the proper amount of fertilizer will help your lawn improve root growth and build up its strength to endure the upcoming winter months If your lawn was seeded earlier in the fall, be sure to continue to supply adequate irrigation to ensure the proper development of new grass.

  • Late Fall / Early Winter – It is time to put your lawn to bed for the winter. Even though the temperatures are dropping, your lawn’s root system continues to grow. A late season fertilization will be stored by the root system to provide for a quicker green-up the following spring. There may still be a few weeds that can be controlled at this time of year, as long as the weeds are still actively growing. The normal growing season for lawns in North Carolina normally ends between November 15th and December 15th.
